I’m not sure what is more endearing about this wood spice pot, it’s beauty or it’s story. Farmers in Kenya saved the stumps of trees that were cut down decades earlier and taught local herdsman to carve bowls and spoons from the aged wood. The workshop is wherever the herdsman sits chipping away, while watching the sheep and cattle in the field. The carvers use machetes, chisels, and other homemade tools, then finish the piece with broken glass bottles and sandpaper to smooth the beautiful wood. Each piece is unique, truly a treasure and will look perfect in your home!
